FAQ

Short answers to what people ask most. If yours is not here, the Help Center goes deeper and Contact reaches a person.

The basics

What Meegly is, and what it costs you.

What is Meegly?

Random video chat. You tap once and you are face to face with someone else who tapped once. Talk as long as you both like, or tap Next and meet someone new.

Do I need an account?

No. Open Meegly and start. Signing in with Google is optional; it gives you 100 hearts, carries your hearts across devices, and turns off the sign-in card. It does not add a profile or a name.

Is Meegly free?

Yes, and it is designed to stay usable without paying. Every new browser starts with 10 hearts, everyone gets a free heart every day, and signing in adds 100.

A call costs one heart a minute, taken after the call ends. You can buy more hearts in the store if you want to talk more than the free ones allow.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Meegly runs in the browser on Android and iPhone, and on any laptop. There is no app to install. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all work; allow the camera and microphone when asked.

Who will I meet?

Whoever is next in line, mostly from India right now. You can tell us who you are and what you are into before you start, and use filters to meet people from a particular state. Filters cost hearts because they make the queue smaller for everyone.

Hearts and paying

One heart is one minute of talking. Everything else follows from that.

Why does talking cost hearts?

A heart is a minute of talking. It is how we keep the lights on without ads, and it keeps the queue full of people who actually want to talk. The first ten minutes are on us, and there is a free heart every day.

When are hearts taken?

When the call ends, never during it. You will see the bill on screen: how many minutes, how many hearts, how many left. Anything under a minute is free, so skipping never costs anything.

What is the card asking me to sign in?

If you stay anonymous, every few chats we show one card asking you to sign in. That is the only nudge we give. Signing in makes it go away and hands you 100 hearts.

I ran out. Now what?

Your next free heart lands at midnight, Indian time. Signing in gives you 100 straight away. Or top up in the store, from ₹9.

Can I get a refund?

Hearts are credited the moment you pay, so purchases are final unless the law says otherwise. If a payment failed, was charged twice, or the hearts never arrived, write to [email protected] with the time and amount and we will put it right.

Where is my GST invoice?

Every purchase has an invoice number on your Purchases page. Write to [email protected] quoting it and we will send the invoice.

Accounts and privacy

There are no profiles here, signed in or not.

What does Meegly know about me?

Without an account, almost nothing: a random device id and your hearts. With an account, your Google email as well. Video and audio go directly between you and the other person and are never recorded. The Privacy Policy has the full list.

Can the other person see my name?

No. There are no profiles. The person across from you sees your camera and whatever you choose to say, and nothing else. This is true whether or not you are signed in.

I signed in and my hearts did not come with me.

Hearts move from a browser to an account the first time that account is created, along with the 100-heart bonus. Signing in again later on another browser does not move that browser’s hearts. This stops people farming hearts by clearing cookies.

How do I delete my account?

Write to [email protected] from the email on the account. We acknowledge within 24 hours and delete within 15 days. Without an account there is nothing to delete: clearing your browser data detaches your device from its hearts.

Safety

Who gets removed, and how quickly.

Is Meegly 18+?

Yes. You confirm you are 18 or over before your camera turns on. Anyone who appears to be under 18 is removed on a single credible report, and we cooperate with the authorities where the law requires.

What happens when I report someone?

They are blocked from ever being matched with you again, the room ends, and the last messages of the chat are attached to the report so a human can see what happened. Enough distinct reports ban the device automatically; suspected minors are banned on one credible report.

Why was I banned?

Because several different people reported you within a day, or one credible person reported you for something serious, or a moderator decided your conduct warranted it. Bans start at a day and double each time. If you think it was wrong, write to [email protected]; every decision is logged and can be reversed.

Someone showed me something explicit.

Report them. Your browser also runs a guard that hides an incoming stream it thinks is explicit before you see it, and gives you the choice to report and skip. Nothing from that guard leaves your device except the fact that it fired.

When something is not working

The three that come up most. The Help Center has the rest.

Nobody is showing up.

We are new, so the queue is thin at quiet hours. Stay on and we keep looking. If you have a filter on, we will offer to drop it when it is the thing holding you back. Evenings, Indian time, are busiest.

My camera is blocked.

Your browser refused the camera or microphone. Click the lock or camera icon in the address bar, allow both, then reload. The Help Center walks through each browser.

The call dropped.

A blip in your connection does not end a call: we hold your seat for a few seconds and reconnect you. If the other side left in the meantime, you will see that, and the call is billed only for the minutes you actually had.
